The Lowcountry Jazz Festival, South Carolina’s premiere annual Smooth Jazz event, celebrates its 10th Anniversary in 2018 in a dynamic new venue – the Charleston Gaillard Center – and with a stellar lineup of superstar artists and up and coming instrumentalists and vocalists. The festival continues its Labor Day weekend tradition, kicking off Saturday, September 1.
The 2018 headliners include chart-topping genre icons, saxophonist Boney James, pianist David Benoit, acoustic guitarist Marc Antoine, electric guitarist Nick Colionne, keyboardist Brian Simpson and saxophonist Eric Darius. Also featured are rising flutist Althea Rene, R&B/jazz singer-songwriter Selina Albright, and saxophonist Jazmin Ghent. More talent is set to be added in the coming weeks and months.

Prints In Clay

The Charleston Gaillard Center presents a powerful evening of African-American Spirituals sung by mezzo-soprano J’Nai Bridges, accompanied by an instrumental septet and choir with Musical Director and Commissioned Arranger Wycliffe Gordon. The program will be accompanied by a two-day photographic exhibit on The Slave Dwelling Project. This program is presented in partnership with Historic Charleston Foundation.
American mezzo-soprano J’Nai Bridges, known for her “rich, dark, exciting sound” (Opera News) is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after talents of her generation. A native of Lakewood, Washington, she earned her Master of Music degree from Curtis Institute of Music, and her Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance from the Manhattan School of Music.

Kristin Chenoweth

Emmy Award® and Tony Award® winning actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth’s career spans film, television, voiceover and stage. In 2015, Chenoweth received a coveted star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 2009, she received an Emmy Award® for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in “Pushing Daisies.” In 1999, she won a Tony Award® for “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown” and she was also nominated for her original role of Glinda the Good Witch in “Wicked” in 2004. Chenoweth has been nominated for two Emmy Awards® and for a People’s Choice Award® for her role on “Glee.”
