The Village Rep is thrilled to announce the EAST COAST PREMIERE production of HOLLYWOOD by the Tony Award-winning playwright Joe DiPietro.

In 1922, famed director William Desmond Taylor is found murdered in his home. The celebrity suspects mount as the headlines explode with lurid reports of love triangles, hush money and deception. Enter Will Hays, Hollywood’s newly appointed moral watchdog, determined to silence the scandal and purify this increasingly corrupt city. Based on the true story of Taylor’s unsolved murder, Hollywood is a noir thriller set in the Golden Age of movies. Even more intriguing, the victim is a relative of Village Rep producing director Keely Enright.

Hailed as “a dream team of performers,” longtime musical collaborators and friends, violinist Joshua Bell, cellist Steven Isserlisand pianist Jeremy Denk, will unite this spring 2019 for their first-ever trio tour to ten American cities. Beginning April 27, the three artists will perform hallmarks of the trio repertoire in acclaimed venues across the East and West coasts. Though Bell, Isserlis and Denk have previously released the landmark 2016 recording "For the Love of Brahms" together on Sony Classical, these performances mark the first occasions in which they will tour live as an ensemble. The Brahmsalbum has been praised as “Absolutely essential listening for the classical fan…well-crafted, flawless…killer stuff.”

Join with Brad and Jennifer Moranz as they put on a show that will prompt a patriotic spirit as well as celebration and support for U.S. troops deployed abroad yesteryear and today.

They produce, write, direct, cast and choreograph three musical revues a year: This year they are "Behind the Lines - a Musical Tribute to America’s Heroes" May 18, "The Charleston Variety Show" July 19-21 and “The Charleston Christmas Special” December 13-23.

Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons

Start Date: 29 Jun 2019
Category/Venue: The Gaillard Center

Frankie Valli, who came to fame in 1962 as the lead singer of the Four Seasons, is hotter than ever in the 21st century. Thanks to the volcanic success of the Tony-winning musical Jersey Boys, which chronicles the life and times of Frankie and his legendary group, such classic songs as “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Walk Like a Man,” “Rag Doll,” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” are all the rage all over again.

But please don’t say that Frankie is back. The truth is, he never went away. Sure, the majority of the 71 chart hits of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons (including 40 in the Top 40, 19 in the Top 10 and eight No. 1’s) came during the 1960s, but the music didn’t just disappear. He has toured almost continuously since 1962, and his songs have been omnipresent in such movies as The Deer Hunter, Dirty Dancing, Mrs. Doubtfire, Conspiracy Theory and The Wanderers.
